A Perfect Pasty Pairing

Spoke and Stringer bring beautifully Cornish pasties to Bristol

It was nice to get a phone call for a wholesale enquiry a little while back for outside of the Duchy. I’d never really considered leaving the shire. When I thought about facing a Cornish winter  and the accompanying economic slump it felt like a no brainer. As a seasonal business, it is hugely important for us to safeguard jobs over the quieter months. By keeping our crimpers busy, we can keep our staff on all year round.

After I took the unusual action of passing the Tamar! I took a deep breath and entered…. A CITY!

All joking aside Spoke and Stringer have some really cracking locations in Bristol. Gasworks Lane and  Whiteladies Road on Clifton Down have great vibes and  some seriously good produce. They have amazing coffee, a catering service and even a range of surf wear and other great lifestyle products.

Upon meeting, we quickly saw how well aligned our brands are. They may not be Cornish, but they do surf! They also share our commitment to local sustainability and are passionate about using top quality local produce.

We are proud to be supplying our range of pasties to the team here and for us, it’s a great excuse to come up for a visit and sample some of the best Bristol has to offer!

As Kristian states on his website:

Spoke & Stringer was founded in 2014 by Kristian Crews, who dreamt up the business plan of combining his love of food with his passions for surfing, motorcycles, and cycling whilst working offshore in Australia as an engineer. Spoke & Stringer is built on a firm belief that a healthy body and mind play in your ability to maximise your freedom. Hours of riding a motorcycle, surfboard, or whatever it may be, takes its toll on the body – therefore you need to fuel up on foods with the highest nutritional value.

We couldn’t be happier with our new partnership. Follow the link to find a more about Spoke & Stringer.
