Time for a celebration party for my 40 th on the 6 th September. After a chat with my good friend Ross I was able to leave the organisation in his capable hands, catering , music and venue. Thanks Mate!! The venue was easily sorted, a tent in a field on Beacon Crag just outside Porthleven, facing the Atlantic ocean. No fear of bad weather as the sun always shines on my birthday.
The tent supplied by South West Domes was perfect , spacious and ideal for a large party . We had a trial run putting it up as I picked the wrong field initially, (an extra pint for all the helpers was swiftly negotiated) It was a cracking location as the photos show. Ross had a brisket joint slow cooked for 24 hours , salads a plenty plus a fantastic hog roast from Pear Tree farm, Lush. Mum made saffron buns, no Cornish party can be held without a tea treat bun.
The bar was busy from the start as friends, family, children, pets, and the Anns Pasties workforce, a mixture of the former, arrived all ready to quench their thirsts. so extra thanks to the Wheal Dream Team for running the bar.
Music by Will Barton andAndre Jone kept the good atmosphere ticking along all night, Ross jumped in as well, his DJ skills as well as his organisation much appreciated. Also thanks to Andre for supplying the music rig!
It was a fine evening bash. The food and drink went down well with everybody, especially Callie my dog she must have thought it was her birthday as well as she devoured as much hog roast as she could.
The weather was fine of course. It was a proper Cornish party for old and young.
It was a grand end of season bash so thanks again to everybody for turning up .
