Supporting Danny On His Wave To Recovery & Competition!

At Ann’s Pasties, we’ve always believed that food is about more than nourishment – it’s about community, courage, and celebrating the human spirit. That’s why we’re so proud to sponsor Danny, a remarkable local surfer, husband, father – and now, international athlete – as he joins the UK Bodysurf team for the 2025 Euro Bodysurf Tour.

Danny’s journey is nothing short of inspiring. In 2019, at the age of 44, his life took an unexpected turn when he survived his first stroke. Recovery meant facing daunting challenges, but also finding new opportunities. Lying in his hospital bed, Danny made a promise to himself: to get back outdoors, to return to the sea, and to embrace life with gratitude and determination.

From that promise grew something extraordinary. With the support of his family and community, Danny founded Stoked Stroke Survivors – a project in partnership with Coastal Crusaders CIC that brings stroke survivors and their loved ones together in the surf. The focus isn’t just on recovery, but on joy, connection, and freedom in the ocean. It’s a living example of how resilience and kindness can ripple outward, touching countless lives.

Now, Danny is taking his journey one step further. Against all odds, he’s made it back into competitive sport, securing a spot on the UK Bodysurf team to represent his country in France and Morocco. Competing at such a high level isn’t just about chasing waves – it’s about showing others what’s possible after life-changing events, and raising awareness of stroke recovery.

We’re honoured to be part of his journey. By sponsoring Danny, we hope to help him shine a spotlight on stroke awareness, inspire others in their recovery, and of course – cheer him on as he takes on Europe’s best bodysurfers.
